“A man who can’t bear to share his habits is a man who needs to quit them.”- Stephen King
A beer label I made for a couple of friends of mine. They called their brewed stout “Dark Tower”. This is a rare one for me, since I don’t do a whole lot of fanart. But I truly loved those books and I hope I did the books and the beer justice with this piece.
Cheers!

Some moose antler studies for a side project I’m doing with a friend. Most of them are from photo references, a few I just made up. Breaking them down into shapes is pretty damn fun.

It’s finally complete! The Arcane Blaster Casters second prototype is good to go!
I am so excited for tonight’s first playtest, I can’t describe it. For this prototype I cannibalized an old boardgame I found in a charity shop (mainly for the board and the box). Of course, I printed, cut and glued our own arena on top of the old board, and everything else is cut by hand. And, DAMN, that was a lot of cutting.
The current version contains 8 casters and their respective spell trackers, 90 spell cards (with a LOT of unique spell combinations), Danger Zones and a whole lot of traps. We’ll also have coloured dice for each caster.

Just finished cutting out 32 spell tokens by hand. I can’t wait until we get a printing house to do them.

Then and now - The Behemoth

I originally drew the Infested Behemoth, a unit in a game I worked on with a friend of mine several years ago. It was supposed to be a once-majestic beast, brought down by unknown diseases and dark rituals. I drew it beheaded and then I had no idea how to make the original beast look any good. The top two sketches are from way back then.

Earlier today, my brain finally dredged it up. Still a lot of refinement to add to the design of it, but I think I’ll be working more on this species.

We’re rapidly approaching the deadline for the second Arcane Blaster Caster prototype and it feels goood! Today I made a nice board, so this is as close as I can get to Screenshot Saturday.
Wait…what happened to the Purple caster?

I’m usually pretty wary when I start a new sketchbook, as I hate ruining the first page (and tearing it out is just cheating…).
I ruined this one pretty damn well, though. Go get ‘em, little lizard dude!

I haven’t posted very many sketches lately because I haven’t really had time to sketch. The best thing about working a job with downtime is that it gives me time to to that again.

You might see a couple of these again pretty soon.
